Now that we've got Earth Month behind us, my employer and I are on to our next community endeavor. We are collecting new & gently used special occasion dresses for Hope Haven's Prom, an event for the residents of Hope Haven sponsored by St. Elizabeth's Guild. Hope Haven is a residential treatment facility for children and adolescents who have mild to serious behavioral, educational, emotional, and/or family problems. The prom is attended only by those who have earned it by exhibiting good behavior.

We're collecting the following items for the girls:

* New or gently used formal or semi-formal special occasion dresses. Volunteers will alter the dresses for the girls, but all sizes are needed. The girl's ages range from 10 to 18.
* Prom-appropriate jewelry, handbags, hair accessories & gently used dress shoes
* New hosiery & special occasion undergarments (slips, strapless/convertible undergarments)
* Perfume, toiletries & new cosmetics -- travel sizes are great!

The boys attending will receive a gift certificate to redeem for a tux/suit rental, but we can still use the following:

* Toiletries & cologne

Donations will be accepted through the end of May. You can drop off your donations at Salon Couvie - 2701 Airline Drive, Suite M., Metairie, 70001 (corner of Airline & Labarre Road, directly past the Causeway). If you cannot find us, call us at (504)835-2700. We're in the Rouses shopping center between Smoothie King and Bella Brew (who has awesome coffee).

Thanks in advance to all those who help!
