      aww, now come on, there are some GREAT costumes at mom's...

      i went last year and had a pretty good time people watching. it is not even vaguely as naughty or risque as people have made it out to be over the years, but i did enjoy myself, liked the band, and got some good people gawking in. :)

    I'm in the M.O.M.s royal Band... 1st.. never approach a moms members and ask for a TICKET... Tickets mean it is open to the public and therefore subject to 'the law.' "Invitations" are given to members and then distributed to the masses at the members discrection. Why? It's a private party when done by 'invitations". Meaning the police have no authority to 'just check it out.'

    As far as getting in.... THe Saturday before the M.O.M.s ball is the Invitation party at Le Bon Tem Roullett (SP) on Magazine street. from noon until about 7pm... bring cash, grass and any other party favor that might move you closer to receiving one. Each member has 9 general admission invitations to do what ever they want to. Face value is $30 to $50 each (gets 2 in).

    There are ussually left overs being sold in line at the event that evening too.. members go in at 7pm... and then general admission is 10pm... just look and listen for people selling them.

    Lastly; the Halloween party at "Howling Wolfe" is a chance to.. 1. meet members and 2. win a membership in the halloween costume contest. It's open to the public.

    We in the Royal band do 2nd lines throughout the year in the French Quarter.. the next one is Bastille Day July 14th... meeting either @ Mollys on Decatur or the Blue Nile on Frenchman around DARK:30.

    ps.. to the guy who questioned that you should go or not.... get a life! If it's not your thing... DON'T GO!
