Some of you know I'm originally from Arkansas (been here over 5 years). In Arkansas the water is nice, clean and soft. Can anyone tell me how to battle the hard water stains in the bathtub? My arms are sore from scrubbing and scrubbing. The only solvent that works is Zap, but I have to still scrub with a hard scrubbing pad. Also what is with the dust? It's sticky!!!!!! Thought maybe someone from here knew a secret.

Thu, November 22, 2007 - 6:19 PMIf it really is just hard water, use vinegar. That suff is usually white though-calcium carbonate and the like.
If it is colored,it's probably metal deposits.
Go to the hardware store and ask,or look, for metal removers. There may also be stuff at the grocery store to get metal deposits off dishes and the like you can put on,let soak, wash off. -

Re: Housework
Fri, November 23, 2007 - 6:22 AMas a guy I go the easy route.. fill the tub with water and about a quart of bleach; throw in the shower curtain too.. and let soak over night... part of what happened besided the hard water is that the finish in your tub may have worn thin allowing stains to permiate the porcelon... reglazing the tub if its old couldn't hurt...
